Simone Hession explains what MySligo means to her, “I’ve been riding ponies since I was 4 and #MySligo is all about introducing this wonderful world to other people. Here at Woodlands Equestrian Centre we have nearly 40 native Irish Draught Horses and Connemara Ponies. They are all homebred and all wonderful. This is my passion.”
Woodlands Equestrian Centre is family run and caters for small groups, private tuition dressage, show jumping and basic riding skills. The centre offers correct and safe tuition on well trained schoolmaster horses or ponies to riders of all levels. They hold regular Dressage shows, training clinics and demos carried out by their highly qualified trainers and can cater for all types of weather as there is an indoor arena. They specialize in Connemara Ponies, Irish Draught Horses and Irish Sport Horses.
Simone is one of the centre’s highly qualified trainers and also competes nationally at Dressage Ireland shows and travels to the U.K to compete on the British Dressage circuit with her horses.
‘My Sligo’ is an initiative from South and West Sligo Tourism network which encourages people to share what Sligo means to them. ‘My Sligo’ celebrates peoples’ individual connection to Sligo and the diversity of what the county offers to people. Photos and videos can be shared on social media and tagged with #MySligo. This allows others around the world to see the sights and scenery of Sligo or entice them to visit and experience this great county for themselves. Let’s tell the world about Sligo. #MySligo
